Migrating to IRIS Elements Tax and Accounts and what this means for you
Why we’re asking you to migrate to IRIS Elements
We stopped selling Taxfiler to new customers in June 2022 when we made the decision to incorporate it into IRIS Elements. It's now called IRIS Elements Tax and Accounts. Incorporating Taxfiler into IRIS Elements allows us to continue to develop the product while retaining the familiarity of Taxfiler and bringing you the many new features and products you've been asking us about.
As a Taxfiler customer, we’re now letting you know that it's time to migrate to IRIS Elements Tax and Accounts to continue working with your data. We’re giving you a minimum of 30 days’ notice.
How will this affect my current Taxfiler subscription?
We've given you 30 days notice to switch before your Taxfiler subscription is due to end. We recommend that you take advantage of the free trial of IRIS Elements Tax and Accounts so that you can take a look around before you migrate your data and subscribe to the full version.
In the trial version, you won't be able to submit accounts to Companies House or submit VAT and tax returns to HMRC. If you know you need to do that, make sure you subscribe to IRIS Elements Tax and Accounts at the optimal time to avoid paying subscriptions for both products.
We're unable to process refunds for the remainder of your Taxfiler subscription. We recommend that urgent submissions are managed in Taxfiler before you subscribe or migrate your data to IRIS Elements towards the end of your 30 day notice period. Once you've subscribed to IRIS Elements Tax and Accounts, you can submit accounts to Companies House or submit VAT and tax returns to HMRC as usual.
How to migrate your Taxfiler data to IRIS Elements Tax and Accounts
We’ve created simple user-friendly functionality that migrates all your Taxfiler data to IRIS Elements Tax and Accounts. The process typically takes about 15 minutes and you’ll be able to start using IRIS Elements Tax and Accounts as soon as it’s complete. Take a look at the step-by-step migration guide.
What happens if you don’t make the switch before your Taxfiler subscription expires?
Once your Taxfiler subscription expires, you’ll still be able to view your data, but you won’t be able to add any new clients or create and file accounts and tax returns.
You can still migrate your data to IRIS Elements Tax and Accounts while your account is in a read-only state.
What happens to your Taxfiler data?
All data will be treated in accordance with IRIS Data Retention Policies.
