Create and Send Messages

To send messages to parents and carers:

  1. Go to Parents Area, then select Parent Messaging.

  2. Select New.
  3. Either enter the message details, or to use a template, select Templates.

    To add links in the message, enter the text, highlight it, then select the Link icon to add the link URL.

  4. To include personalisation in the message, such as the student name, select Merge Tags.
  5. To allow the recipient to reply to the message, clear the Disable Replies selection.
  6. Attach Files to include any required attachments.
  7. In To, select the recipients.

    If the parent or carer name is not known, search for the student name to display linked parents and carers.

  8. Select the required message sending options from Send this message via:
    • Smartphone — to only send an app message free of charge.
    • Email — to only send an email to the parent or carers email address.
    • Text Message — to send a message to the parent or carers mobile number.

    Text Message is only available if your organisation have the Text Message bundle.

  9. To send the message at a later date or time, select the Schedule Message options.
  10. Select Send.
  11. To confirm the message details, enter the number of parents and carers it is being sent to, then select Confirm.

After sending the message, to check the recipients who have and have not read the message, find and select the relevant message and a list of Recipients is displayed with the read or unread status.
