Synchronising IRIS BioStore Portal and IRIS BioStore Till Data

The IRIS BioStore Till app works with IRIS BioStore Portal to get the information the till might need to know to process orders, such as customer details, menus, and so on, then transfers transaction data about the orders back to IRIS BioStore Portal.

Synchronising Data for the First Time

When you first connect a device to use as a till with the IRIS BioStore Till app, a data synchronisation happens to make sure all the data is available when you log in.

To synchronise data successfully, the app must be in online mode and the device being used must have an internet connection.

Synchronising Data After Till is Set Up

Devices with an internet connection are synched when the IRIS BioStore Till app is opened, then while the till is being used, data between IRIS BioStore Portal and the IRIS BioStore Till app continues to synchronise. Your organisation can set how frequently the data is refreshed in the Till Settings.

If the device has not been used as a till for a while, when you next open the IRIS BioStore Till app the data synchronisation might take a bit longer than usual while it updates.

Data Synchronisation Issues

When synchronising the data for the first time or after the till is set up, if there are any issues, an Error status is displayed against the sections of data we could not update, and a warning is displayed.

If the synchronisation of data fails more than once, you can choose to continue to log in and use the till offline or if you have an internet connection, online with only the data it has been able to synchronise.

If using the till online with existing data, we continue to try and synchronise the data and a notification is displayed when it has been synchronised successfully.
