Hide Nominals

This guidance is only for IRIS Financials Version 7.0.2223 or later if your organisation has switched on the New security screens. If it is not switched on or using version 7.0.2103 or earlier, go to Hiding Unwanted Nominals.

CUSTADMIN access only

When a nominal is no longer being used, to stop any transactions being posted to it, it must be hidden. After hiding a nominal, transactions posted to them are no longer displayed on a trial balance or report for user groups who no longer have access.

Hidden nominals continue to display for IRIS Financials administrators.

To hide a nominal, either:

• Remove permissions for all the users in the relevant user groups who no longer need access
• On the Maintenance screen for the required nominal, edit the user groups who have access

If access only needs to be removed for one or a few users in the group, change the user group the user belongs to.
