Editing an Existing Nominal
CUSTADMIN access only
There may be circumstances where you want to change the name of a nominal to something more applicable or amend the settings the nominal was created with (where applicable).
You are not able to change the code for an existing nominal. If a nominal requires a new code, a new nominal needs to be created. For more information, please see Creating a Nominal.
It is important to note that any change must be made for each location as the changes are not automatically rolled out (because each location may want the nominal to be named differently).
If you make a change to a nominal on the Master location the change is applied to all locations. To change a nominal title for a single location, you need to create a new nominal but must contact the person within your establishment/organisation who administers your system i.e. has a CUSTADMIN login . Analysis fields and the CASHFLOWPR (Cashflow Profile) are updated across all locations if changed on the Master location. Indices are not updated, such as the ESFA Budget Forecast.
If an update is only made to location nominal, rather than on the master location nominal - i.e. the Title, the change on the single location nominal is reverted back to whatever the title is on the Master location within 15 minutes.
All users must be logged out of the system before completing this process.
- Select Maintenance, then select Nominals from the menu.
- The Nominal Maintenance window is displayed. Select the required nominal you want to edit from the left-hand panel, then select EDIT.
- If a field remains greyed out you are unable to change the details. Amend the required fields, then select SAVE. In the following example, the Title has been amended.
If the nominal title has been amended and your establishment/organisation require the nominal and key title to match, the title of the key needs to be amended. For more information, please see Maintaining Keylists.
