Default Security for Ledgers

This guidance is only for IRIS Financials Version 7.0.2223 or later. If using version 7.0.2103 or earlier, this feature is not available.

When a new account is added to a ledger, default security can be set to automatically apply if you do not want to set security by individual user groups, or until user group can be set.

  1. Go to Maintenance, then select Ledgers.

  2. Find and select the required ledger.
  3. Select Security, then EDIT.
  4. From Account security, select the relevant option: 
    • Default Secured — The accounts for the ledger are only displayed after you set the security for the accounts.
    • Default Open — The security applied to the ledger is applied to all accounts unless you set the security for the account.
    • Off — Security cannot be set at account level and only controlled by security applied to the ledger.
  5. SAVE The changes.
