ID Point Setup
IRIS BioStore IDPoints can be used in a wide variety of systems including e-registration, print & copy control, access control, and more.
IDPoints support a choice of identification methods:
- Biometric finger identification
- Mifare card scanning
- PIN entry
The identification process works in the following way:
- The user scans their chosen method of identification on the IDPoint.
- The IDPoint sends the encrypted identification template to your BioStore server for comparison and identification.
- On a successful identification, your IRIS BioStore server communicates the user's credentials to the relevant application (e.g. FasTrak Revals).
- The application then logs the user in or grants access to the relevant program.
There are two steps to take when configuring IDPoints; one step on the machine running the IRIS BioStore application you want to connect to, and one step on the IDPoint itself:
- Create the IDPoint licence in the IRIS BioStore application.
- Apply the IDPoint licence on the IDPoint.
Please Note:
- IDPoints require their own network and power points.
- IDPoints should be positioned so that there is enough room to insert a USB drive into the USB port on the left hand side of the device.
Individual static IP addresses are required for each IDPoint.
