Create a sales quote
The images and steps in this topic are based on our new design (which you can currently switch on and off). If you haven't switched the new design on, the images may look different.
You can issue quotes to your customers to let them know the price of your goods or services. The quote can be converted into an invoices once the goods or service have been delivered.

Go to Sales > Sales Quotes then select Create new.

Enter a Sales Quote Number (numeric and unique) together with a Sales Quote Reference.

Select the Customer. Alternatively, select + to add a new customer.

The Billing address will automatically select the address saved on file for the selected customer. Select to enter an alternative billing address if required.

Select Use different delivery address if required then complete the address details.
Use the Postcode checker to look up addresses or select Enter address manually to type in directly.

Select the Date you issued this quote.

Select a Category for this quote. You can create categories to help identify the status of this quote, including colour coded flags.

If enabled and set up, select a Project. You can use projects to group income and expenses relating to a certain project to monitor profitability.

Select the Currency for the quote if different to your default currency.
Add new line item
Each item that you are quoting for needs to be added as a separate line.

Select Add Line Item.

Select the nominal code from the Sales Code. You can add more sales codes if required.

Select the Product from the list. If you have linked sales codes to products (refer to stock management), this field is required. If the product in question has not already been created select + and enter a product code and name.

Enter the Qty, the number of this line item that you are quoting for.
You can rename this field by going to Settings > Invoice Options > Display Options.

Enter a clear Descriptionfor the quote.

In Rate, enter the amount you are charging before VAT (also known as Net Value).

Select the VAT Rate you are charging from the list. The VAT amount will be calculated based on the Rate and VAT Rate options entered. You can enter a different value if needed.

The Total for the line item is the sum of Rate and VAT.

Repeat for any additional items then select Save.
