Transfer cash to petty cash account

The images and steps in this topic are based on our new design (which you can currently switch on and off). If you haven't switched the new design on, the images may look different.

If you have a petty cash float, you will sometimes need to top up the float by withdrawing cash from your bank account. This needs to be recorded.

If you haven't already, create a petty cash bank account to record your petty cash transactions. Whenever you withdraw cash from your main bank account you will need to record the transfer of the money from one bank account to the other.

  1. Go to BankingBanks then select Transfer Money.

  2. Enter the Date the cash was withdrawn from the bank, together with the Amount.

  3. Select the bank account the funds were withdrawn from the From list then the petty cash bank account the cash was paid into from the To list.

  4. Enter any Comment then select Transfer.
