How to install PTP Tax Expense

New Installations

1. Visit our download webpage http://www.iris.co.uk/support/ptp-software-support/

2. Click the Downloads link.

3. Next click the PTP Tax Expense xxxx (where xxxx is the current year) link on the New installation.

4. When prompted click the Save option.

5. Select Desktop then click Save again.

6. Due to the changes of how PTP installs you must now install the main PTP Tax Expense software on the main PC/Server that has the PTP Tax Expense Data.
   

Installing PTP Tax Expense

1. Locate the file called PTPTaxExpense2016-vXX.X.XXX.exe (were X is the year and release number) double-click to start the installation process.

2. Click OK.

3. Click Setup.

• Do not close this Window.

4. Click Next.

5. Then Next.

6. Click Next.

7. Select I accept the Licence Agreement, then click Next.

8. Enter Customer details then click Next.

9. Click Next (C:\PTP is the recommended path).

10. Click Next on the Data path.

11. Click Next.

12. Click Install.

The following screen displays (do not click Cancel).

13. Click Finish.

Accessing PTP Tax Expense

1. From the PTP Launcher click PTP Tax Expense.

• The first time you access PTP Tax Expense you will be prompted for a data migration to the SQL Server version, (even though this is a new installation this screen will display). PTP advises that you install a new SQL Instance rather than use any SQL Instances already in place.

2. Select Download and Install SQL Server Express (on this PC).

3. Click Start the download and install process.

Download in progress (do not click Cancel).

SQL Server installation now in progress.

• This is an Automated process no action is required by the user.

4. Click OK.

5. Click Next.

6. Select Do not show this message again then click Cancel.

7. Click Yes.

8. Click OK then Close.

This will now open the new SQL version of PTP Tax Expense.
