How to enter a new Share Issue Event within the Share Register

Introduction

This topic explains how to enter a new share issue event using the Share Register in Accounts Production.

 

Step 1 – How to activate the Share Register

  1. From the Accounts Production toolbar, select Edit | Share Register Status

The following screen displays.

  1. Select Data is good for accounts.

  2. Click the magnifying glass next to Y/E date field.

 

The following screen displays.

  1. Highlight the earliest year end date and click OK.

Step 2 – How to enter a new Share type/Share Issue

  1. From the Accounts Production toolbar, select Edit | Share Register

The following screen displays.

  1. Click Yes.

  2. The Copy Share Register Information screen displays. Click Yes to copy information (this is copied from information previously entered within the data screens, Edit | Data screens | Notes to the financial statements | Balance Sheet items | Creditors | Share Capital, alternatively click No.

 

If no shares have previously been entered the following screen displays.

  1. Click Yes.

 

The following screen displays.

  1. Enter name of share within the Class of capital field.

  2. Click into the Short name field. This field is automatically populated.

  3. Enter the nominal value in the Nominal value field.

  4. Click into the Shown on documents as field. This field is automatically populated.

  5. Click OK.

 

The following screen displays.

  1. Enter the relevant date within the Effective date of change field and  click Log.

 

The following screen displays.

  1. Click Yes.

 

The following screen displays.

  1. Click  New | Share issue

 

The following screen displays.

  1. Enter the number of shares to be issued within the Number of shares field.

  2. Enter the relevant date within the Issued on field.

  3. Click into the Description field. This field will automatically populate.

  4. Click OK.

 

The following screen displays.

  1. Click Add.

  2. From the drop-down list, highlight the relevant option, for example, Director/Secretary, Existing member, PTPclient or Other shareholder.

  3. Highlight the relevant option and click Select.

  4. Enter the number of shares to be issued in the Number of shares field.

  5. Click into the Nos. from field. This will automatically populate the Nos. from, To, Total payable, Total Paid and Date paid field.

  6. Click Post.

 

The following screen displays.

  1. If the shares are to be jointly held, select the Jointly held box, alternatively go to step 28.

  2. Click Add.

  3. From the drop-down list, highlight the relevant option, for example, Director/Secretary, Existing member, PTPclient or Other shareholder.

  4. Highlight the relevant option and click Select.

  5. Click OK.

Repeat steps 19-28 if required.

 

The following screen displays.

  1. Click Close.

 

The following screen displays.

  1. Click OK.

 

The following screen displays.

  1. Click  Close | Close

 

The share issue is now complete. The Share types tab displays.

  1. Click Close.
