Network Installation

Workstation configuration – network environment only

PTP Accounts Production is a server based application therefore you must first install the PTP Accounts Production – iXBRL Edition on the Server.

 

Adding workstations

At the first workstation:

  1. Navigate to the shared folder on the server that holds the PTP Accounts Production – iXBRL Edition files; either by browsing to the folder, or by typing in the name of the shared folder.

  2. The file called setup.exe in the PTP programs folder needs executing.  The path will be similar to: \\servername\share\setup.exe (replace this path with the correct path for the environment).

  3. Double-click the setup.exe file to start the installer.

All configurations

  1. A dialog may display. It will differ according to the system configuration. Click Install.

  2. As the Workstation setup is initialising, a status message is displayed.

  3. Click Next to start the Workstation setup.

The next dialog displays the default network path where the non-SQL data is stored. If a different location was selected during the main installation, it should be re-selected now.

  1. Click Next to continue.

  2. Select the option for the desktop icon if required and click Next .

  3. Click Install to continue.

  4. When the process has completed, click Finish.

The PTP Accounts Production icon is displayed on the desk top if this option was selected during installation. If not, the program is still accessible to the user through Start, All Programs, PTP Software, Accounts Production.

  1. Double-click the icon to launch PTP Accounts Production – iXBRL Edition.
