The Time Ledger has a holding system, called a pending queue to contain all pending postings. A list of these can be found within the browse queue and other items.
To update the Time Ledger pending items:
Enter the Time Ledger.
Click Pending Queue.
Click Update Ledger.
The Update Time Ledger WIP screen will be displayed. To update the Time Ledger the following options are available:
Select Time Periods from
Displayed on screen are two periods, for example 2002/02 to 2002/05. Postings made between this period range can then be updated to the Time Ledger.
By default your earliest and latest periods with a status of current are selected. Click here for more information on time period status. Only the current & pending time ledger periods can be updated to the ledger. Postings within a closed time ledger period have already been updated.
For a period to be closed all timesheets and other postings must be updated to the system. Click here for a checklist for closing a time ledger period, or for the help topic on closing periods click here.
Include entries for
This option determines whether Time WIP, Expense WIP or both are updated to the time ledger. By default both items are ticked. To only update Time or Expenses untick either of the boxes.

Update Timesheets
To update your Timesheets place a tick in the empty box next to Timesheets. Next to the Timesheets there 3 further filters; postings from and two, completed only and only for staff member.
The filters posting from and to, completed only and only for staff member can be used together to filter timesheets postings. If left blank then all timesheets postings within the selected period range will be updated.
Postings from and to
This option will filter the item dates for which the timesheets will be updated. For example, if the item dates 1/12/02 to 7/12/02 were entered then only timesheets posted between these dates will be updated.
This is not a mandatory field. If both these fields are empty then all timesheets within the selected period range will be updated.
Completed only
Selected by default, when enabled only completed timesheets will be applied to the time ledger. To update incomplete timesheets remove the tick from this option.
Only for staff member
To update the a timesheets for a specific staff member enter the identifier in the field provided. This option is most useful if you wish to see a particular staff members postings on time and fees reports.
Other Items
To update a general adjustment posting, general expense posting or timesheet correction postings place a tick in the empty white box next to Other items.
From date, to date
This option will filter the item dates for which the postings will be updated. For example, if the item dates 1/12/2002 to 7/12/02 were entered then only postings between these dates will be updated.
This is not a mandatory field. If both these fields are empty then all corrections within the selected period range will be updated.
Only for staff member
To update the postings for a specific staff member enter the identifier in the field provided. This option is most useful if you wish to see a particular staff members on postings on Time and Fees reports.
WIP write offs
To update a WIP write off posting place a tick in the empty white box next to WIP write offs.
A filter available is from date and to date. If left blank then all Write off postings within the selected period range will be updated:

This option will filter the item dates for which the WIP write offs will be updated. For example, if the item dates 1/12/2002 to 7/12/02 were entered then only postings between these dates will be updated.
This is not a mandatory field. If both these fields are empty then all WIP write offs within the selected period range will be updated.
Fees Documents
To update the items that affect the Time Ledger WIP from the Fees ledger, place a tick in the empty box next to Fees Documents. These items include Fees Ledger invoices, credit notes , invoice reversals, and credit note reversals.
A filter available is from date and to date. If left blank then all postings within the selected period range will be updated:

This option will filter the item dates for which the Fees Documents will be updated. For example, if the item dates 1/12/2002 to 7/12/02 were entered then only postings between these dates will be updated.
This is not a mandatory field. If both these fields are empty then all Fees Postings within the selected period range will be updated.
Note: Fees Ledger postings will not need to be updated if update time ledger immediately is selected in the Fees Ledger options.
T/L Documents
To update a Time Ledger invoice, or Time Ledger credit note place a tick in the empty box next to T/L Documents.
There is a to and from date to filter your postings. If left blank then all Time Ledger documents within the selected period range will be updated.
Postings from and to
This option will filter the item dates for which the postings will be updated. For example, if the item dates 1/12/2002 to 7/12/02 were entered then only postings between these dates will be updated.
This is not a mandatory field. If both these fields are empty then all Time Ledger documents within the selected period range will be updated.
Opening Balances
To update your opening balances place a tick in the empty box next to opening balances.
To update the ledger click OK, or Cancel to close.
