De-registration of Clients

Introduction

This facility is designed to allow clients to be removed from Time & Fees database. This is used as a database maintenance tool to remove clients that have been created in error, and clients no longer presently being used by the practice.

The benefits of deregistering a client are:

When a client is deregistered the postings made to the client cannot be deleted, but are transferred to a suspense account. For example, if client A001 has £300 of outstanding WIP, this balance will be transferred to the suspense account. This client will have all block all time postings, and block fees postings flags automatically set to prevent further postings being made to the client within Time & Fees.

Click here to set the suspense account, or here a for further information on details of the suspense account.

Postings moved in this way have a record of the original client on them, BUT THERE IS NO OTHER AUDIT BALANCE OF THE DE-REGISTERING PROCESS. This process should not be regarded as an audited transfer of balance to the suspense account.

Once a client registered from Time & Fees has been de-registered, it can be deleted using the client deletion feature.
