Fees Ledger postings can be made by either Batches or Adhoc Posting.
A batch is a container used to store fees postings. By using a batch
similar fees postings can be grouped together and a running total of these
postings can be stored.
Advantages of using batches:
Postings entered into an open batch will be shown with the Fees ledger reports immediately, as the adhoc posting.
Batches act as a container for postings. Batches can group together similar postings (For example, invoices or receipts) for the month.
Batch have a running total of expected and actual postings.
Batches can be reported on separately.
Postings within an open batch can be deleted.
Disadvantages of using batches:
Time Ledger can only be updated once the batch has been closed.
Fees Periods can only be closed once the batch has been closed.
Postings made within Adhoc posting are loose postings made within the Fees Ledger:

Postings entered will automatically be posted to the Fees Ledger
Fees Postings can be shown within the Time Ledger as they are posted.
Disadvantages of using Adhoc Posting:
