Staff

Staff members are used to recognise the person who is using the system (throughout IRIS) and to record time an expenses against individuals within Time & Fees.

Within Time & Fees a staff member can be made responsible for other staff and clients. (see partner and manager).

To access this screen, go to System Maintenance | Staff | Staff Maintenance

The following options are available:


View

To view or modify a staff members details click View. For example, f you wish to change a charge rate for a member of staff.

A staff members details are stored within the Basic, Links, Allowed and Rates tabs.

New

To create a new staff member click New.

An unlimited amount of staff members can be created within the Time Ledger. If the taff member is to have time recorded, the registered with Time & Fees option needs o be ticked for a staff member.

Print

To Print a list of staff members click Print. An simple hardcopy or staff list can be printed.

A simple hardcopy produces a list of all staff members currently displayed on screen. To alter this list a search criteria can be used. The simple hard copy displays the client identifier and staff description for each staff member displayed.

A staff list report is a flexible report giving you the opportunity to decide which staff members are included in the report, and how the report is presented.

 

Search criteria

The search criteria is used to filter the staff members presented on screen. It is possible to filter by Staff identifier, by Partners only, by Staff group and by more criteria:

Staff identifier 

To search for a required staff member enter the staff identifier in the field provided. For example, type PD. To enter a range of staff members enter the staff identifiers separated by a greater than sign. For example, a range can be entered by A>PD to show staff members between this range.

Partner only 

To display a list of the partners select the option, partners only.

To set a staff member as a partner view a staff member and select the option, is a partner in a firm.

Staff Group 

Staff can be grouped together for reporting purposes. For example, administrative staff can be grouped into administration.

More Criteria 

For a more specific staff search click on the More criteria button. By using this option you will be able to display a more detailed selection of staff members on the current screen.
