Job Group

Jobs Types of similar nature can be grouped together for reporting purposes into Job Groups. For, example the twelve periods jobs of Business Tax for 2001 can be placed in a single group to reduce the data that needs to be entered when reporting on Business Tax Job Types for 2001.

 

To display a list of job Groups:

  1. Enter the Time or Fees Ledger.

  2. Click File.

  3. Click on Job types.

  4. Click on Job Groups.

The Job Groups screen displays.

 

The following buttons are available:

View

To view or modify a Job Group click on the View button. Click here for the topic for changing a Job Group

New

To create a new Job Group click on the New button. Click here for the topic for creating a Job Group

Print

To display the jobs selected on screen click on the Print button. The Job identifier, Type and Description can be printed, displayed on screen or saved to disk.

Display Job Group

Listed on screen are the Time and Fees Job Groups. For each job Group an Identifier, Type, and Description is provided:

Identifier 

This is an unique code given to the Job Group.It is advised that codes the user will be able to recognise the job from are used. For example, Accounts could have the code ACC, business tax BTAX and so on.

 

Type A Job Group is given the job type G, for Group.

 

Job Description - this is a brief description of the job type, for example, Account or Personal Tax.

Search Criteria - this search facility is used to filter the job Groups displayed on screen. This can be used as a quick method of finding a required Job:

 

Job Group - Jobs of similar nature can be grouped together for reporting purposes, for example the twelve periods jobs of accounts for 2001 can be placed in a single group to reduce the data that needs to be entered when reporting on accounts for all periods in 2001 (this would only apply if you were using a Job Identification other than continuous.

 

Within Groups

Job Groups can be organised into further Job Groups for reporting purposes. For example, job group audit, accounts can be grouped together into job group Accounts.
