How to unlock the IRIS Database (after an upgrade fail)

  1. Click Start, All Programs, Microsoft SQL Server (2005 or 2008 R2), SQL Server Management Studio.

  2. Select the IRIS instance in the Server Name box and click Connect.

  3. The naming convention can include variations such as PCNAME\SQLEXPRESS and may not always appear as the example below:

  1. Once Connected, click on the + next to Databases.

  2. Right-click on the IRIS database and select Properties.

  1. Go to Extended Properties.

  2. Change the Value for IRISDatabaseUpgradeInProgress to FALSE (it should state TRUE).

  1. Click OK.

  2. Retry the update.
