A customer number must be entered before entering the licence details below.
The licences option is used when software is first installed. It is also used when a licence renewal letter is issued following payment of licencing the software or when an upgrade to the software is purchased (for example, an extra screen or increased package limit).
This option is restricted to MASTER and superusers.
Authorization code letters may be issued up to 10 days after payment for renewal of licence.
Current Licences - contains a list of all the licences currently active on your system. This also includes the facility to remove licences from your system.
Update Licences - allows you to add new licences to your system.
Licence Agreement - shows the most recently accepted licence agreement, as well as any new licence agreements that are available.
Configuration - contains the ability to switch the system type between live and test.

Clicking on any of the listed licences will bring up the full details of that particular licence:
Type - Single User (S); Multi User (N) or Multi Site (D).
Expiry date - the final date the licence will be active.
Screens - the number of users that can be simultaneously logged in to the module.
Package limit - the number of clients that can be active in the module (unlimited is shown as 10,000).
Package used - the number of clients currently active in the module.
Customer reference number - your unique IRIS customer number.
Activated by - the IRIS login and windows user name of the person that activated the licence.
Activation date and time - the date and time the licence was activated.
Web service - automatically downloaded by the software
User Import - for users without an internet connection that have been provided with a licence file or User input - manually entered paper licence
Licence agreement version - the version of the licence agreement accepted for this licence.
To remove a licence from your computer, select all or a selection of the licences from your system using the tick box to the right of the licence and click Remove Licences, bottom right of the screen.
Licences with an activation method of Web service will be available again to activate the next time your system checks for licences.
Licences with an activation method of User import will not be available until you contact our Licence codes and invoicing team to request a new licence file.
Licences with an activation method of User input can be activated again using the details in your licence renewal letter.
The software will periodically connect to the internet and check for updates to your available licences, any new licences will show on this screen.
If no new licences are showing there are 3 options for updating your licencing:
Check for updates - this is the most common option for updating your licencing. When selected the software will connect via the internet to the IRIS licencing webserver and download any available licences. Once download a list of available licences will show, select all or a selection of licences using the tick box to the left of the listed licences and click Activate.
Import licence - if your system does not have an internet connection this option can be used to activate your licences. Select this option and follow the on screen instructions to have a licence file sent out to you, which can then be imported in to your system.
Add licence - if you still receive a licence renewal letter with a list of licence codes then this option can be used for manually entering these licence details.
In order to minimise the amount of staff time required to maintain your licences the software will periodically check for updates to your licences and where possible automatically enter these into your software.
If you have agreed to our latest licence agreement only the following details have changed then these licences will be automatically entered on to your computer:
Expiry date
Screens
Package limit
Here you will be able to view the most recent version of the licence agreement that you have agreed to.
The following information is also available in the details section:
Licence agreement version - the version of the licence agreement most recently agreed to.
Agreed by - the IRIS login and windows user name of the person that agreed to the licence agreement.
Agreed on - the date and time the licence agreement was agreed on.
Periodically the software will check for new licence agreements, if available a notification will be placed at the bottom right of this tab. To view the agreement click View.
Once this has been read select I Agree to confirm your acceptance to the licence agreement.
On this tab you are able to set your system type; this ensures the system checks for the correct licence type when checking for updates to your licences.
Live system - the default option, this should be selected on the system that contains your live client data.
Test system - if your contract contains the provision for a test licence and this is your backup/test system then select this option.
