A header record is a special record at the beginning of the CSV file.
Each record in the CSV file contains information relating to one client.
A record contains a number of fields. Each field is an item of information (identifier, surname, town, phone number and so on). The header record gives a description of each field. This is then used by the package to import the CSV file to identify the information.
For example, if a CSV file is imported into Microsoft Word and used to write a letter to all clients, Word's mail-merge facility will list the fields available in the CSV field using the field names defined in the header record.
Some word processors or databases may not recognise a header record. If not, it should be omitted.
