To access this screen go to Edit | Share Register | Share Types tab | View/New
The Share Types tab shows the current share capital information for the selected client. It identifies the description, the nominal value, the authorised and issued number of shares for each share type.
On this screen it is possible to setup new share capital or view the details of existing share capital.
Class of Capital - The name entered here will be used in Accounts Production reports. That is, the class of capital that the share issue is going to be for example, ordinary, preference.
Authorised no of Shares - this is the amount of shares available to be issued.
Short Name - the name entered here will be used in Company Secretarial on the forms when mentioning Share Capital. It uses the Short Name instead of the Class of Capital due to the restricted space available on the forms.
Nominal Value - this is the starting value of the shares.
Number of Shares Issued - shows the amount of shares that are going to be issued to shareholders. This must not be more than the authorised number. This option is greyed out and is automatically entered by IRISPTP from the transactions related to this share type.
Show on documents as - how the nominal value will display on the share certificates and so on.
Created - the date when the share capital was created.
Updated - a record of the last user to change this screen and when it was done.
Share Type Number - the number of the share type. This must not be the same as another share type on this client.
Comment - this field can be used to enter any comments about this share type. The information entered here is included in the Remarks section on the Register of Directors' Interests.
Non Equity Shares - selected if the shares are non equity shares.
Has voting rights? - selected if the shares have voting rights. It is selected by default.
Fully Paid - selected if the share type is fully paid. This box is greyed out and will be entered by IRISPTP if the shares are fully paid. IRISPTP decides whether the share type is fully paid from the amount paid for the shares which has been entered in the transaction(s) for the share.
Discontinued - selected if the share type has been discontinued. If a certain event discontinued this share capital then the By Event option should be selected and click Choose Event to select which event discontinued this share capital.
Participating Dividend - will be available if the non equity shares box has been ticked. If there is a participating dividend for this share type, tick this box.
Rights - this screen is used to enter the description of the voting rights for the class of shares.
Other available options are as follows:
Events - displays a list of events associated with this share capital.
Dividends - to add/view some dividend information about the selected share capital.
Transactions - displays a list of transactions associated with this share capital for example, the issue of the share capital to the relevant shareholders.
Transfers - displays a list of the share transfers for this share type.
Certificates - allows the share certificates to be viewed for the selected share capital.
Show Numbers - displays which shares and numbers have been allocated to which shareholders.
Delete - deletes this share type.
Holdings - shows a list of the members and their holdings, including share numbers and certificate numbers.
OK/Save - saves any changes made to the information displayed. If the authorised number has been altered and saved then Companies House may require a form. Options to Log/Don't Log will display.
Click Close to exit the screen without saving any changes.
The arrow signs << and >> can be used to scroll between the different share types that the client has.
