A feature within tasks is to set reminders on tasks. This can be done on Task creation or whenever needed. View the task and select Reminder. The boxes to the right will become active and a date and time can be set for when the reminder will occur.
When that time is reached, and as long as Practice Management is running, a Task Reminder prompt will appear that will detail all tasks that have a reminder that have not been viewed yet. With the Reminder screen details relating to the task, for example who assigned the task.
The following options apply:
Dismiss |
this turns off the reminder on the task. The task will not be marked as complete and still appear on the Task Browser Outstanding view. |
View |
This opens the task details which can then be reviewed. Changes to the details of the task, including the staff member the task is assigned to, can be made. For further details please see the Post Task Help screen. |
Snooze |
This delays the reminder and a task can be snoozed at varying lengths. These are 5, 10, 15, 30 minutes, 1, 2, 4, 8 hours, 1, 2 days, 1, 2 weeks. |
Select All |
If there is more than one Task on the Task Reminder screen this highlights them all. This will apply the same snooze or dismiss all of them. |
Refresh |
re-searches the system for outstanding Tasks |
Close |
Closes the screen but if Tasks have not been dismissed or snoozed a prompt will appear. You will have to snooze/dismiss before continuing. |
If Practice Management is not open then the next time the user logs in it will display all outstanding prompts.
To cancel the reminder View the task and then take the Tick out of reminder. Alternatively use Dismiss from the Reminders screen.
Reminders can only be set on tasks assigned to the current login.
A Reminder cannot be set on a completed task.
A Reminder cannot be set in the past. This is verified when pressing the OK button in Post Task.
Unless the reminder field has been explicitly cleared by the user (by un-checking the reminder checkbox), reminders are set automatically for due dates greater than today.
Example for item 4
If you create a new task and set the due date to, say 25 January, a reminder will automatically be set for this date. If you change the due date the reminder date will be updated to reflect it. If, however, you then clear the reminder (by deselecting the reminder checkbox) further changes to the due date will not result in any reminders being automatically set (unless you set the reminder again).
