Beginners Guide - Workflow report.

To return to the main Beginners Guide menu click here.

The workflow report is used to track the status and progress of client jobs under a particular service (i.e. Personal Tax service). This allows you to see which stages have been completed, who by and also who completed the work. You can also see the jobs that have not reached a certain point to ensure that this work gets done.

This allows you to quickly see which jobs are behind schedule.

To run the report from the Pm icon right-click and select Management Reports and Workflow.

On the Options tab you then need to select the service that you are interested in, for example the Personal Tax Return. Below this are the stages of the job profile and here you can tick each stage that you would like to appear on the report output.

Finally there is the status From/To. This allows to you restrict the report by saying that a stage shown in From (or after) must be completed. Similarly the To box will restrict the report to only show jobs that haven’ t had that stage completed (or any after).

The Order tab controls how the report will be sorted and ordered for display. This can be as simple as just client identifier or more detailed ordering by status reached so you see which jobs need the work.

The Selection tab controls restrictions on the report. This includes the type of client, if you wanted to run just for Limited Companies, and also you can restrict to show only shows in a certain period end or statutory deadline.

The Columns tab controls the physical output of the report. Selecting any of the columns here will show that detail on the report. The more columns you have the smaller the font used, as it will re-size the report to suit the number of columns.

Finally the List tab. This allows you to refine the search using the Find Clients search engine. This is a more search and will allow you to pick the clients that have a certain attribute or clients that live in a certain town. This overrides the effect of the Selection tab. However the workflow report is a more specialist report so some options on the Selection tab will remain.
