Government securities purchased through the NSB register should be entered via Other untaxed interest.
Enter the full amount of income from Ordinary accounts. The first £70 is no longer tax free.
When entering details for a new account, select the type of account from the following menu.
A First Option Bond (The only account type that has tax deducted)
B Ordinary Account
C Investment Account
D Deposit Bond
E Income Bond
F Capital Bond
G Pensioners Guaranteed Income Bond.
If the wrong type is selected, it can be changed via the parent record. However, it is not possible to change a First Option Bond account into any other type or vice versa.
All NSB accounts and bonds, except first option bonds, are taxed under Schedule D case III.
Enter the details of the account on the provider record:
Description and Number - this is for information purposes only.
Dates, may be left blank - if the date disposed of is within the tax year this will prevent the record being brought forward to the following tax year.

Enter the interest received on the income record:
Interest credited - enter the gross interest received., unless it’s a First Option Bond in which case enter the net amount.
Tax deducted at source - this field is only available on First Option Bonds. Enter the amount of tax deducted.
Date interest received - this may be left blank.
