Operative Events

The operative events section is used to add details of further purchases and sales of shares of the same type and class. The initial purchase is entered in the share holding screen. Subsequent acquisitions and part or full disposals are entered here as events.

Capital Assets can handle various capital events that occur on share holdings:

Operative events are accessed from the main capital assets window by selecting shareholdings on the left-hand side of the screen and then by clicking Events at the top. The events screen is split into two halves; the top half lists all the share holdings for the currently select client and the bottom half shows all the events for the currently selected holding making it easy to quickly review all the events for a clients portfolio.

 

Adding events

To add a new event:

  1. Select the share holding in the top half of the screen.

  2. Click Add.

Editing events

To edit an existing event:

  1. Select the share holding in the top half of the screen.

  2. Select the event in the bottom half.

  3. Click Edit.

Deleting events

To delete an existing event:

  1. Select the share holding in the top half of the screen.

  2. Select the event in the bottom half.

  3. Click Delete.

  4. Answer Yes to confirm the deletion.

Consolidations

To enter a consolidation for a shareholding:

  1. Select the share holding in the top half of the screen.

  2. Click Consolidation.

  3. Enter the date the consolidation occurred.

  4. Edit the original holding.

Share Splits

To enter a share split for a shareholding:

  1. Select the share holding in the top half of the screen.

  2. Click Share Split.

  3. Enter the date the share split occurred.

  4. Edit the original holding.

Print History

To review the history of a shareholding:

  1. Select the share holding in the top half of the screen.

  2. Click Print History.

  3. Select the output for the report and click OK.
