Non Trading Capital Allowances And Charges

 

Trading Charges And Allowances

This screen shows the amounts that go on the Capital Allowances sections of the CT600.

If a value is not calculated by Business Tax you must enter the data directly in the ‘white’ field provided.

Disabled fields are completed by Business Tax using the data you have entered in the Capital Allowances option.

It is possible to access the Capital Allowances option directly from the Claims for Capital Allowances screen by clicking Edit. Once you have finished making the changes you will be brought back to the claims for capital allowances screen and shown the amended values.

 

Other charges and allowances

Agricultural charges and allowances

These fields are completed automatically, based on the information entered in the Building Allowances option for Agricultural Buildings.

Where the Building Allowances option was not used these values can be entered in directly by ticking the Edit check-box. These amounts will be included in box 725 and 730, (for periods starting before 01 April 2015, boxes 113 and 114 respectively) of the CT600 Return and are also used to adjust the trading profit/(loss).

Patent charges and allowances

These fields are automatically completed, based on the information entered in the Capital Allowances option. Where asset group 503 'Patents & licences' is used to create a non-pooled asset, the values entered here will be included in box 725 and 730, (for periods starting before 01 April 2015, boxes 113 and 114 respectively) on the CT600 Return and are also used to adjust the trading profit/(loss).

 

Non-Trade Capital Allowances

To access this screen select Data Entry | Claims for Capital Allowances | Select the Non-trade Capital Allowances tab.

Use this screen to enter any Non-trading Capital Allowances and Balancing charges to be included on the on the CT600.

Annual Investment Allowance

Use this field to enter any AIA allowances relating to non trading activities. The value entered here will be included in Box 735, (for periods starting before 01 April 2015, box 173) on the CT600.

UK Land and Buildings Allowances and Charges

Capital allowances and charges relating to income from UK Land and Buildings should be entered here. Any values entered here will be included in Box 115 and 116 on the CT600 return.

The value entered in the capital allowances field will be deducted from the property income value in the period, and the value in the balancing charges field will be added to the property income in the year.

Allowances and Charges for the Management of the Business

Capital allowances and charges relating to the management of the business should be entered here. Any values entered here will be included in Box 750 and 755, (for periods starting before 01 April 2015, boxes 115 and 116 respectively) on the CT600 return. Any capital allowances in excess of the balancing charges will be shown in Box 255, (for periods starting before 01 April 2015, box 27) on the CT600. Any balancing charges in excess of the capital allowances will be included in Box 205, (for periods starting before 01 April 2015, box 14) on the CT600.

Other Non-trading Allowances and Charges

Any other non-trading capital allowances and balancing charges should be entered here. Any values entered here will be included in Box 750 and 755, (for periods starting before 01 April 2015, boxes 115 and 116 respectively) on the CT600 return. Any capital allowances in excess of the balancing charges will be shown in Box 290, (for periods starting before 01 April 2015, box 32) on the CT600. Any balancing charges in excess of the capital allowances will be included in Box 205, (for periods starting before 01 April 2015, box 14) on the CT600.

Business Premises Renovation Allowances and Charges

Any other non-trading business premises renovation capital allowances and balancing charges should be entered here. Any values entered here will be included in box 740 and box 745, (for periods starting before 01 April 2015, boxes 164 and box 165 respectively) on the CT600.

The value entered in the capital allowances field will be deducted from the property income value in the period, and the value in the balancing charges field will be added to the property income in the year.
