It is possible to change the appearance of reports produced from IRIS Personal Tax, this is done setting up different Font Groups which can then be selected when producing a report.
The following instructions are a guide to setting up new font groups, editing existing font groups and how to use the advance options each section uses the Person Tax computation as an example.
Care should be taken to select an appropriate font. If the font is too large the information may not fit on the page or might overlap with other details.
The text type must conform to certain HMRC standards: minimum size 9pt and the font should be noticeably different than the main form, that is, when producing a Final Tax Return do not select Arial.
From the Reports menu select the Tax Computation option.
Click OK on the report option screen.
The Computation Report Output screen displays, the first option on this screen is the Font group section.
Click Group Setup to the right of the font group section, the Font Group Maintenance screen displays which lists any existing front groups.
Click Add, enter a name for the font group then click OK.
IRIS will automatically assign the default settings to this new font group, to alter them click Change Settings.
Select a font, style, size and colour from the lists available.
Click OK to save these settings.
Click Save Changes on the Font Group Maintenance screen the Computation Report Output screen will display.
IRIS will automatically select the newly set up font group the name of which will be displayed at the top of the screen with the Font Group box.
Select any other required options from the Computation Report Output screen then click OK to continue.

Click OK on the report option screen.
The Computation Report Output screen displays, the first option on this screen is the Font group section.
Click Group Setup to the right of the font group section, the Font Group Maintenance screen displays which lists any existing front groups.
Click the Final font group then click Change Settings.
Select a font, style, size and colour from the lists available.
Click OK to save these settings.
Click Save Changes on the Font Group Maintenance screen the Computation Report Output screen will be displayed.
IRIS will automatically select the newly altered font group the name of which (Final in this example) will be displayed at the top of the screen with the Font Group box.
Select any
other required options from the Computation Report Output screen then
click OK
to continue.

Click the Final font group then click Advanced Settings; the text type settings options will be displayed.
Each font group contains the following text types:
Normal - the bulk of the text on the document
Title - main heading on the report
Page heading - running headers
Sub-heading - heading within the report
Footings - running footers
Comparatives - accounts Production report only
Tax return boxes - information printed on facsimile reports
Click on the text type on the left of the screen then click Change Settings or double-click on the chosen text type.
Alter the settings as required then click OK to return to the Text Type Settings screen
Once required changed as completed click OK to close the Text Type Settings screen, then click Save Changes on the Font Group Maintenance screen.
Select
any other required options from the Computation Report Output screen
then click OK to continue.
