This topic explains how to import dividend information from the Share Register in the Company Secretarial Module into Personal Tax.
Prior to importing the dividends into Personal Tax, ensure the share information and the dividends have been setup in the Company Secretarial module within the Share Register.
From the Personal Tax menu bar select Client | Select
Highlight the client and click Select.
Select Edit
| Capital Assets.
The following screen displays.
Select Share Holdings on the left-hand side of the screen.
Click the ADD
icon at the top of the screen or select Edit
| Share Holding | Add Share Holding
The following screen displays.
Click
the magnifying glass next to the Master
Group field to select a quoted
company from the master list. This will populate the Company
Name and Share
Class automatically.
The following screen displays.
The Listed Companies
option is selected default.
Select the IRIS Companies option.
Select the company from the list that dividend
information needs importing for and click OK.
Complete the following fields:

Date Acquired |
Enter date |
Amount Paid |
5000 |
Total Number Shares |
5000 |
You can use the <Tab> key to move between fields.
Highlight the holding and select the relevant tax year from the Show Dividends For drop-down list.
Click Import.
The Dividends will be imported from the Share Register as follows.
