Problems with template headers

Step 1 - Un-hide file extensions

  1. Stop the template checker by ending tasks (to do this press Ctrl + Alt + Delete, select Task Manager, and End task, to end any non-responsive programs), this includes closing Word.

  2. Click Start from your desktop and Control Panel.

  3. Click Folder options  and click the View tab.

  4. Deselect Hide extensions for known file types (Windows XP, Vista ) or Hide file extensions for known file types (Windows 2000)

  5. Click Apply - OK - close Control Panel.

  6. Log out of all IRIS products.

  7. Log into AutoMail. The template checker will start to run through.

Step 2 - Open the Word document outside of IRIS

If the template checker stops again then there may be a problem with the named file. To check this, you may need to open the named word document outside of IRIS from windows explorer.

To do this, you need to know the filename and the path for this file. The filename is displayed in the message. For example, in the above message, the file a306phfs.doc is displayed.  The file path can be found in the message too. In the above example the path is  C:\TESTTT\DATA\Notes\_irist\
