To produce an AutoMail template with the Next Year Payment On Account figures to show Claim for Reduction there are two things to check:
Check a final tax computation has been run from within IRIS Personal Tax
Check and insert the correct tag in the AutoMail template
For information to show in AutoMail a Final Tax Computation must be run from the IRIS Personal Tax module:
From the IRIS Main Menu, click IRIS Personal Tax.
Click the magnifying glass to display the Client Browser window.
Highlight a client and click Select.
Go to Reports | Tax Computation, select Final. Make sure Payments on Accounts is selected and click OK.
Select the print option(s), for example, Screen and click OK.
The Personal Tax figures have been calculated and will now be accessible from AutoMail.
Make sure to insert the Next Year Payment On Account tag into the AutoMail template.
If the tag being used is 'NYrOACGross' then this looks at the Payment on Account figure in its original form. The tag 'NYrOAC' looks at the same figure, however it also takes into account the claims for reduction.
To insert these details in to a Microsoft Word document and a WordPad
document.
For all Microsoft Word templates:
This will display the Letter Request Browser screen.
Click Templates to open the Letter Template Maintenance screen.
Highlight the Word template and click Properties. The Edit Properties screen displays.
Go to Context type and click the drop-down menu and select Individual Personal Tax. The relevant tags required display. Click OK.
Highlight the Word Template and click Edit. This will open the template in Microsoft Word.
To add the tags for 'Next Year Payment on Account', minimize the document to display the Tag Selection box.
Click the plus sign next to the Particular Client folder | Individual | Tax Information | Next year folder, select NYOAC and click Refresh.
Expand the document and place the cursor where you would like to insert the tag.
At this point the tag has been selected and is ready to be used in the template.
To insert the tag into the template the instructions differ depending on the version of Microsoft Word.
MS Word 2007
Within the template, place the cursor in the position you would like the Next Payment on Account Figure to go.
Click the Mailings tab and click Insert Merge Field.
Highlight LMCLNYOAC and click Insert.
The formula displayed in the document will show as: {MERGEFIELD LMCLNYOAC} or <>
Save the document and generate the letter.
