Comprehensive Income – Continuing and Discontinues Operations

This client screen is used for Limited Companies.

It can be found in:

Edit | Data Screens | Profit and Loss Account | Continuing and Discontinues Operations

Discontinued Operations

If a company has ceased to trade a tick on this screen will disable all other fields.

Users would not then need to complete the Breakdown of profit and loss items in the section.

Breakdown of Profit and Loss Account Items

This section should be used where some of the company's activities were continued or discontinued during the year.

It is assumed that fields regarding turnover and income are credits and fields regarding expenses are debits so +/- signs are not required.

If there are ANY entries on this screen:

Accounts Production will assume that FRS 102/101 breakdown into continuing activities, and discontinued operations is relevant and will use formats which show this information by default.

Which statutory layout is being used for the profit and loss account? The either /or sections of the screen refer to the different breakdowns required for statutory format layouts 1 and 2. You should therefore only complete one of these sections. Turnover breakdown should be completed for either type of layout.

Accounts Production will carry out checks to make sure that the figures as entered on this screen tally with entries per the current year trial balance.
