How to change Account Description at Client and Chart Level

Introduction

The following options are available in Accounts Production:

 

Changing Account Description at Client Level

Changing Account Description at Chart Level

 


 

Option 1 - Changing Account Description at Client Level

  1. From the menu bar select Edit | Account Description


  1. Click Add.



    If Client Specific Account Descriptions already exists, the Specific Account Descriptions screen displays, click New.

    The following screen displays.
  1. Enter the Account code in the number field or use the magnifying glass to find the account number.

  2. Enter the required description in the Account Description field.

    If the description is too long to fit in this field, enter a short description to be used in the posting reports in this field and enter the full description to be used in the accounts in the Specific Extended Description field.

  3. Select Print extended description as keyed.

  4. Click OK.

  5. Click Cancel and Close.

Option 2 – Changing Account Description at Chart Level

  1. From the menu bar select Setup | Account Charts



    The following screen displays.
  1. With the correct chart highlighted click Amend.



    The Amend Option list displays.
  1. Select Account description, type and settings.



    The following screen displays.

  1. Enter the Account Number in the List from Account field or leave as zero and click OK.



    The following screen displays with the account code to be changed highlighted.

  2. Click Change.



    The Chart of Accounts screen displays.

  3. Enter the required description in the Account Description field.

    If the description is too long to fit in this field, enter a short description to be used in the posting reports in this field and enter the full description to be used in the accounts in the Specific Extended Description field.

  4. Click OK.

  5. Click Cancel and Close.
