The detailed staff performance analysis is a Time Ledger report to display performance of staff.
To access reports ensure that the staff allowances 'can see WIP valuations of Time' and 'see Cost Valuations of Time' are enabled.
To produce the detailed staff performance report complete the options, order, and selection tabs in sequence. (See report format topic)
To load the detailed staff performance report:
Log into the Time Ledger.
Click Reports.
Click Staff report, a submenu displays.
Click Staff performance, a submenu displays.
Click Detailed.
The options screen allows you to define the system constraints for the detailed staff performance report.
The following options are available:
Select one of the following options to set the time-scale for the Staff WIP movements reports:
Current Periods - when this option is selected postings made between the earliest and latest current periods will be displayed.

Selecting this option for a memorised report will always show the latest WIP balance details
Last periods up to - if you select this option the field to the right becomes available. Here you can enter the number of periods (prior to the most current period), that you wish to run the report for.
For example, if the number 2 is entered into the field, postings made into the current period and its preceding period will be displayed.
The minimum number of periods to be covered is 2.
Time Periods From - if this option is selected the fields 'from' and 'to' become available. Here you can enter the start and end of a period range that the report is to be run for.
Dates From - if this option is selected the fields 'from' and 'to' become available. Enter into these fields the start and end dates that the report is to be run for.
Select one of the options below for further breakdown of where staff time was spent.
The following options are available:
None - click to exclude any totals for staff members.
For a more concise report it is recommended this option is selected.
By client - click to display the total hours and WIP charge for each client the staff has worked on. Also displayed are totals for nonchargeable WIP.
By Client Job - click to client job to display the total hours and WIP charge for the jobs on each client that the staff member has worked. Also displayed are nonchargeable totals.
This option will not be available if you have not elected to use job types.
By Client Job + Work Type - click to get a breakdown of hours and WIP spent on worktypes. A list of clients split by jobs will be displayed, and the breakdown of worktypes will be by client job.
This option will not be available if you have not elected to use Work types
Select this option to exclude staff without postings made within the 'Time Periods figures are required for' (as defined above). This option can be used to provide a more concise report.
Within the staff performance detailed report calculations are made on chargeable Time and Nonchargeable time. By selecting this option non accountable time will included in these calculations, and so items such as 'annual holiday' and 'maternity' will be included in performance percentages.
By selecting 'show actual postings' it is possible to view a list all postings a staff member has made for the timescale specified. For example, when the detailed staff performance summary is run for a month it is possible to see all staff postings for the month.
Every staff member that satisfies the Selection criteria will be included in the report. The information will be subtotalled by the first sort criteria selected under the Within client sort WIP items tab. For example, to display performance summary by partner select this option, and within the order tab select Partner and subtotal by partner.
The detailed staff performance report displays percentages on staff performance.
The following options are available:
Value of chargeable time divided by value of 'total' time - using this formula staff percentages are calculated as follows:
Value of chargeable time X 100
Value of total time
For example, in September a staff member has £1000 of chargeable WIP on clients and £300 on administrative work. Using the formula above this would show that 77% of the staff members chargeable value was spent on clients.
This percentage focus's the staff members performance on the chargeable value of time they have spent on clients.
Chargeable hours divided by total hours - using this formula staff percentages are calculated as follows:
Chargeable hours (hh mm) X 100
Total hours (hh mm)
For example, a staff member spent 100hrs on clients in September and 100 hrs on admin. The staff performance report would show that 91% of time was spent on clients.
This performance percentage focus's on hours spent on a type of work, not the chargeable value.
Chargeable WIP (including expenses) divided by total WIP - using this formula staff percentages are calculated as follows:
Chargeable WIP (including expenses) X 100
Total WIP
For example, a staff member spent £1300 of chargeable time and expenses on a client, and £200 away from the client. The staff performance report would show that 87% of chargeable WIP was spent on clients.
