The Report Output screen will be displayed whenever a report is produced. At this point, the report can be sent to a printer, a printer image file, a word processor file or the screen. More than one of these option may be used at the same time, select each destination to be used:
The Printer may be connected directly to the computer being worked on, or over the network. To the right of the printer Details button the currently selected printer is displayed. To select a different printer, click Details to the right of the printer. From that screen select from all the printers available to this computer. See your printer documentation for instructions on installing new printers.
The File option can produce a printer definition file that can be stored on your computer and printed at a later date. Clicking Details to the right of the file option will allow the location and name of the file that will be created. The file will only be able to be printed on printers the same as the printer currently selected under Printer above.
Do not use this option to create a file to be viewed in other Windows applications, use the Word Processor options below.
Sending a file to Word processor creates a file that can be recognised by various Windows applications including Microsoft Word and Excel. To change the format to suit the word processor being used, and the name of the file that will be created, click Details to the right of the word processor option.
Sending the report to Screen can be used to check the output before committing it to printer, it also can be used to print certain pages or a range of pages from the report. The Printer option does not need to selected if the report is sent to screen, as the report may be printed after it has been displayed on screen.
Enter the number of copies of the report to be printed.
The options you select on this screen will be retained for the next time the report can be run .
Click OK to send the report to the destinations specified above, Cancel will close the Report Output screen without sending the output anywhere.
