Fees Ledger Opening Balances

Post a Fees Ledger opening balance to set debtor balance on a client. For example, a client has an opening balance of £400.

To post Fees Ledger opening balances:

  1. Enter the Fees Ledger.

  2. Click Posting.

  3. Click Opening Balances.

The Fees Ledger Opening Balance Posting screen displays.

 

To post an opening balance:

Client - enter the client identifier to which the opening balance is to be posted. For example, A001.

Date - enter the date of the opening balance.

DR or CR - select debit to increase the clients debtor balance. For example, enter 500 and select debit to show that a client has a £500 balance.

Select credit to reduce the clients debtor balance. For example, enter 200 and select credit to reduce the clients debtor balance by £200.

Amount - enter the amount of the opening balance. For example, 200 for £200.

Reference - enter a reference to identify the opening balance. For example, OB001 for the first opening balance.

Cross reference - enter the reference of another posting that the opening balance has been linked to.

If you have elected to match by cross reference then enter the reference number of the posting the opening balance is to be matched to in the cross reference field.

Narrative - enter a narrative for the opening balance.

 

Click Post to post the opening balance or Close to exit.
