Fees Ledger Posting

Details of the selected Fees Ledger posting can be found on this screen.

 

To access the Fees posting screen:

  1. Log into the Fees Ledger.

  2. Click Enquires from the menu.

  3. Select Account Details from the sub-menu.

  4. Type in a client identifier.

  5. Highlight a posting and click View.

The Fees Ledger posting screen displays.

 

The following fields are displayed:

Client - the identifier of the client the posting has been made to is displayed. For example, A001. Adjacent to the identifier is the client name. For example, Mr Armitage.

Date - displayed is the date of the posting. For example, 06/05/2006.

Fees batch no. - if you have made a fees posting within a batch, the Fees batch number will be displayed.

Period - displayed is the Fees period that the posting has been made into. For example, 2006/10.

Amount - the Gross amount of the fees posting is displayed. For example £117.50.

VAT amount - the VAT element of the fees posting is displayed. For example, £17.50.

Matched so far - displayed is the value of the posting that has already been matched. For example, £117.50 would show that the whole posting has been matched.

VAT? - if the document include VAT then details are included in the VAT field. If it has been posted to a single VAT rate then the percentage, value and rate are displayed. For example, 'at 17.% on £100 (rate 1)'.

If the posting does not include a VAT element then 'no VAT entries present' is displayed.

Reference - if you have typed a reference for this posting it will be displayed in this field. For example, INV100.

Cross reference - displayed is the cross reference. For example, a receipt may be cross referenced with an invoice.

Export batch number - displayed is the export batch number. If you export Fees postings within Posting | Posting export then each posting exported is given a posting batch number. For example, batch number 2.

Adjusts T/L WIP - for invoice and credit note postings, when the Adjusts T/L WIP option is ticked the posting has been sent to the Time Ledger. For example, when an invoice has been posted to write out WIP.

Posted by - the posted by field displays the staff identifier of the person logged into Fees when the posting was made. The date and time are based upon  the computer clock. For example, staff RP 06/06/2006 16:10.

Terms - displayed are the terms of the invoice, being either standard terms, special terms or no terms. Click here for further details.

Narrative - displayed is the narrative of the posting. For example, invoice for partnership tax work. This field can be edited at a later date.

In dispute - by ticking the in dispute option it will not be possible to match the posting.

More details - the options within the more details section provide additional information for the posting.

 

These include:

VAT

The VAT option is available when VAT has been split by multiple rates. For example, to post an invoice with 17.5% VAT and a disbursement element at 0% VAT.

Matched

By clicking Matched you can view postings that are currently matched to this posting and full matching history. Click here for further details.

 

Time W/O

The Time W/O option is available when an invoice or credit note has been posted to affect the Time Ledger.

Terms

The Terms option is available for invoice postings, where it is possible to set standard terms, special terms or no terms.

Switch Reference

The Switch Reference option is available for receipt postings only, replacing the terns option. Each posting can have two references, by clicking Switch Reference button it is possible to alternate between these references.

Nominal

Click on the nominal button to display the nominal code (s) that the posting has been made to.

Fees Batch

The Fees Batch option is available for postings that have been made within a Fees Batch.

 

Update - click to save any changes made within this screen.

Reverse - click to either cancel or reverse a posting. Click here for the topic for reversing a posting, or here for a reference.

Match Account - click to match Fees postings for this client.

Send to T/L - the send to Time Ledger is available for invoice and credit note postings that have not been passed to the Time Ledger.

Close - click to exit.

Document - the document option on a posting can be used to produce Fees Ledger document for this posting. For example, if an invoice document is being view it is then possible to generate an invoice document which can be sent to the client.
