Client Category Components: Changing

Client category components are designed as a subsection of the Client Category as a method of organising and grouping the category. For example, the first Client Category could be called Client Type, within it the components Manufacturing, Farming, Engineering, Solicitors and Retailers. An unlimited number of components can be created for each Client Category.

 

To modify an existing Client Category Component:

  1. Log into the Time and Fees Ledger.

  2. Click File.

  3. Select Categories.

  4. From the sub-menu click on the Client Category.

  5. Highlight the Client Category Component you want to change.

  6. Click View.

Your chosen Client Category screen definition displays.

The following information will need to be entered:

Identifier

This is the unique code that will be used to recognise the Client Category Component throughout Time & Fees. Ideally this identifier will reflect the complete title of the Client Category Component, for example use TYPE for Client Type.

 

To change the Client Category identifier, on the current screen:

  1. Click Advanced.

  2. Select Change Identifier.

  3. Enter the new identifier for the Client Category Component.

  4. Click OK.

The new identifier should be displayed at the top of the screen. All postings already made to this Client Category Component should reflect the new identifier.

Description

This is a brief description of the Client Category Component, for example, Solicitors, Accountants, Farmers and Doctors. To change this Description enter the new Description and click Update at the bottom of the screen.

Delete

This will remove the client category component from the system.

Once you have entered the information on this screen as desired click Update to save changes to the system. If you are not happy with the information you have entered, click Cancel.
