The Beaumonts' tax affairs are final for the year ended 5 April 2008 and it is necessary to print their final returns for signature and associated computations to advise of any tax liability/refund that is due. Commence with Mr Beaumont by clicking on the Client radio button.
From the Personal Tax menu bar select Reports and Self Assessment Tax Return.
As before the supplementary pages that are relevant to Mr Beaumont are listed in tax return form options, to process the entire return click OK.
Select Final in the Report Options window and click OK.
The Return is displayed on screen, to print it, select the Print button in the top right corner and click OK on the print screen.
Once generated, close the preview of the Return by clicking the Close button in the top right corner.
If you have an active Automail licence you will be prompted at this stage to produce a letter. Click OK to produce a covering letter for this Tax Return.
If you have an active Practice Management licence you will be prompted to log this Tax Return, so that a copy is retained on file. Click Log Report.
From the Personal Tax menu bar select Reports and Tax Computation.
In the Report Options window select OK to accept the default (Final). By this action the date and status of the computation (final) is saved to Administration (Edit Tax Return Details) section of Personal Tax, and is used in various management control reports.
Select the destination of the computation in the report output option, then click on OK to initiate the report process.
Again if you have an active Practice Management licence you will be prompted to log this computation, click Log Report to do so.
To generate Mrs Beaumont’s tax return, tax computation and trade computation, follow the instructions as detailed in points 2 to 11 above. (The Trade Computation will have to be selected separately from the pull-down menu; it is not produced in conjunction with the Tax Computation) Remember to select Mrs Beaumont by selecting the Spouse radio button.
After processing Mrs Beaumont's return and computations you have concluded Lesson 3. Re-select Mr Beaumont to continue with the remaining Lessons.
