Foreword

This tutorial is designed to offer guidance to a new user on the main features and functions of Personal Tax. Using a fictitious example the tutorial will assist the user through every aspect relating to this particular scenario, from the creation of details for a marriage to the deletion of these details. It is recommended that the user study the "typical" example before embarking upon a real case. The example is not intended to encompass every circumstance and manner of data entry that may be encountered in the application of the Personal Tax program.

The tutorial has been divided into 6 lessons. Once the tutorial is complete the user will know how to:

Each lesson is sub divided into short topics and they contain a series of numbered instructions for the user to follow. When entering information only fields where data is to be entered are mentioned; use the mouse or arrow and <TAB> keys to skip blank fields.

Relevant notes are provided by the sign although the explanations are kept to a bare minimum. For further information on a related topic select the link displayed.

The example case to be used in this tutorial is that of Mr and Mrs Beaumont. You act in respect of husband and wife and tax returns are completed for both individuals. Mr Beaumont is employed by a limited company in the capacity of director and Mrs Beaumont runs a small business from home for which accounts are not prepared through Accounts Production. Both the employing company "Mega Profits Ltd" and Mrs Beaumont's soletrade "Tunes" will be entered in Personal Tax only and therefore will not become clients of Accounts Production.
