Pickwick Paper Mills Limited wants your firm to prepare monthly management accounts from 1/1/07 onwards but after the first two months figures have been prepared the accountant becomes ill and you decide to combine the March and April figures into one management period which will be two months long. After that the management accounts will be prepared monthly again.
Select Posting | Post select the posting file and when at the Review posting batch screen, indicate that you want to use management accounting to display the list of management periods.
Highlight the third period, which is now incorrect as you want the period to run from the 1/3/08 to 30/4/08.
Select Change and then Here to end.
You will be asked if you want to continue, reply Yes.
A panel allows you to amend the period start and end dates. Change the end date to be 30/04/08 and select OK.
The panel displays the start and end dates for the following period. Amend the end date to be the 31 May 2008 and select OK. Continue this process for each of the periods. Once you have amended the period end for December you are returned to the screen listing the periods. The periods which you have amended have a * against them. If all the periods are now correct select Close.
